Perl Search Scripts

I want a new Perl CGI search script for my website. I hate my current one because its little quoted paragraphs don't contain the actual term searched for, so you can't see what context the term was used in unless you click each link and find where the term occurred on each page yourself.

I've been script-shopping this evening and I think I found a script that will do everything I want if I pay $25 for it, but I'm torn about going that route. Actually, I'm tempted to just study Perl a bit more and see if I could just learn how to modify what I've got to make it do what I want. But this may or may not turn out to be easy. Would any of you happen to have a convenient free customizeable search script lying around someplace?
