Look What Showed Up with the Laundry Today . . .

Hey! My parents never bought me condoms.

Not that I wouldn't be sort of disturbed if they did (and see, my parents know my journal's URL, so I would not want them to take this entry as a suggestion), but you know - I'm just saying. It's awfully cute in a "but no, I don't really want that to happen to me" kind of way.

um... thanks?

His (http://www.livejournal.com/users/abhorred/) mom bought him a box of condoms once. It was greatly amusing.

My parents' reaction to the idea of me and sex in combination is to ask, "So, do you need to get a checkup? Need any... prescriptions?"

I wish my girlfriend's parents would have that reaction... as it is, she was trying to figure out how she could get birth control pills through doctors not at home, because her parents would kill her if they knew she was having sex. Those crazy college kids, always sneaking around their parents...

Well, at least at my school, the student health center will prescribe birth control... you do have to get a pelvic exam with THEM before they'll let you stay on them for more than a couple months, though. And they'll give out 3 or 4 months' worth at a time. And Planned Parenthood will also prescribe and give out long-lasting supplies.

A great thing about the college that I attended was that the health center provided birth control pills at $10 a pack. Of course, a pelvic exam was required for the year's prescription, but since a yearly checkup is basic good sense anyway, that was fine by me.

Going to do it through school, now, it looks like. Mom was going to get me an appointment but never did. I was slightly annoyed.
