Skirt!

This evening I completed the creation of one of the most perfect purple skirts that has ever existed. With the help of the sewing machine I bought about four months ago, the project took only three days. It's the second item of clothing I've created with the sewing machine, and it was both more challenging and more successful than the first item (which was also a skirt, but with a different waistband arrangement), and, in short, this very moment that I sit here typing this is the exact moment at which it has finally been proven beyond all doubt that the money I spent on that sewing machine was a very good investment. A person who's never used a sewing maching before in their life really can go buy one, learn how to work it, and soon develop adequate skills to create clothes that it's not the least bit embarrassing to wear in public.

Might we all be treated to a visual example of said most excellent skirt?

Indeed you may.

My cheap digital camera misrepresents it though; it's actually quite bright shade of purple, despite the dull faded greyish tinge that the photograph has endowed it with.

Very cool skirt! Purple rocks.

I do a lot of sewing...when people complain to me that they can't sew, I ask them if they can (1) draw a straight line and (2) follow a recipe. Sewing machines are great. :)

That's great skirt (I believe you on the purple, but even so, it's very fetching.)

The real scandal in this picture is the 2" of GAYLE TUMMY though. I have an overwhelming need to tickle it.

eeep! *ducks and giggles*

It's a pretty skirt! I really like the darts around the waist. If indeed those are darts around the waist and not just the way the fabric fell in the picture.

**joins in the tickling of Gayle!Tummy**

Yes, there are a few pleats sewn into the waistband on each side. I was vaguely copying the design of a storebought skirt I already owned.

Very beautiful! I'd love to try it on. :)
