In addition to being the patron saint of lovers, St. Valentine is (or was - the Catholic Church has somewhat distanced itself from him these days) the patron saint of beekeepers, epileptics, people who faint, plague victims, travelers, and young people. So if you fall into any of these groups, consider yourself honored today! I don't think I have any LJ friends who are beekeepers or plague victims, but I have at least two with epilepsy, and probably some who've fainted, and definitely plenty who are young or have traveled. Happy Valentine's Day! You don't have to have a lover to be honored by St. Valentine!
