Oh yes, come to think of it, I used to underline my favourite passages too, but I've always preferred copying/typing them out (with complete citations) on paper or as Word files. I've found that it gives one time to ruminate a bit more on the passages before moving on, and it's easier to find again the next time I want to read them.

Oh, and the other thing I wanted to add, now that you've put the right photo in:
I opened them for pictures because even though I don't open them normally, I still have an awareness of what I would see through them if I did open them, and you wouldn't have that if I didn't open them.
All I can say is that I still don't have any awareness of what I would see through this window ...
