Immune

This is from Volsi's journal:
"Then [Mom] spotted my issues of The Advocate and confiscated them, stating that as this was a free country, she had a right to be against gays and if she ever saw any 'gay stuff' in my possession again, she'd knock my teeth out. Lovely stuff, really. I finally got rid of the both of them around 12:15, and then mom found me again around 3 minites later and attempted to give me a hug. When she saw I was crying, she told me that I should cut the melodrama, and that she knew I didnt have any real feelings.

I'm okay now. I was in a great mood earlier and in a while i'll be in the same great mood. I'm getting my permit tomorrow. Yipee."
Fun stuff.
"And these children that you spit on
As they try to change their worlds
Are immune to your consolations
They're quite aware of what they're going through."

--David Bowie, "Changes," 1971
