Queerness in Afghan Culture

I really don't like to get caught saying anything bad about David Bowie, but he happens to be my ISP and his @#$%^&*! email servers have been stealing and withholding random messages for a week and then for the past approximately 72 hours now they haven't been allowing me to check my email at all - I just get an error message. It is EXTREMELY annoying. So if you've left me a comment anywhere that you're wondering why I haven't responded to, that would be why.

**update: now it's letting me access the servers again, but still withholding half my comment notifications. sigh.**

In other news: "British marines returning from an operation deep in the Afghan mountains spoke last night of an alarming new threat - being propositioned by swarms of gay local farmers." (Thanks to katyha for the link.)

i'm sure that at least a dozen people have already told you about this article (http://www.nytimes.com/2002/06/09/arts/music/09PARE.html) but i just dig this description: "Lean and affable, he was wearing a skintight gray T-shirt and stylishly understated gray pants."

Actually I hadn't seen that, and I thank you muchly for it!

Oh no! It's a THREAT! Being propositioned!

What an absolutely absurd "threat". And god, those soldiers come off like real jerks.

Well, yes. But I find it hard to imagine how anyone who goes around purposely killing people all day could possibly *not* be a jerk.
