Foreign Objects Found in Bodily Orifices!

A few weeks ago a LiveJournal friend of mine (who shall remain anonymous unless she declares her wish to take credit for it) introduced me to the Rectal Foreign Bodies page. Not the most dignified reading material I've ever spent an evening with, I must confess, but I certainly never imagined that there was any other page about foreign objects found in people's bodies that would be able to top it.

But I was wrong.

It makes a certain amount of sense to be that objects would occasionally get lost in people's rectums and they'd need medical help to get the objects removed. I mean, it's a bottomless pit that people do tend to put things into. Of course the "concrete enema" story did push the limits of my imagination a bit, but even then, there was something not entirely surprising about it, somehow.

But the Foreign Objects in the Vagina page is a whole lot harder for me to understand. I mean, we're not talking about a bottomless pit here. How the hell can you put things in and just forget about them? How the hell can a woman put a tampon in her vagina and just leave it there for five years until it causes scar tissue to form and separate the cervix from the vagina, blocking off her periods from getting out?

Will some woman please explain to me how on earth she could just forget about it for all that time?????

there are certain parts i'll leave well enough alone.

i mean, yeah, i can understand putting one's finger in one's nose from time to time. maybe some joker will fill his mouth with m&m's to see how many he can get there. we're not gonna die from swallowing chewing gum.

but when it comes to reproductive and well, expulsion systems... i leave well enough alone. pretty damned important parts, not to be messed with. weird. how COULD she just forget about it?

what, you mean breathing and digestive systems are less important than reproductive and expulsion systems???

i don't find anything at all more disturbing about inserting objects into vaginas and anuses than into noses and mouths. the disturbing part is the bit about concrete mix and leaving things in for five years. i mean, if somebody had poured liquid concrete into a person's mouth instead of into their anus, that'd cause an even worse problem than what they actually did caused. and if somebody left a tampon up their nose for five years instead of in their vagina, well, it'd probably cause scar tissue there too and maybe they wouldn't be able to breathe anymore.

if you're going to fool around with body parts, the vagina and anus are not an especially bad choice of which body parts to fool around with. but i mean, there does have to be a dose of sanity in there somewhere. and with liquid concrete and five year long extended insertion times, that necessary dose of sanity was obviously missing.
