So I've resolved to finally do this NaNoWriMo thing. I will be doing it in my [livejournal.com profile] gaylemadwin journal, not in this one, so you can choose to read or not read as you see fit. I also expect that all or almost all of it (possibly if I write something really really short I'd make an exception) will be behind lj cuts. But anyway, that's where I'll be writing, and it's up to you whether you feel like reading or not. (I pay absolutely no attention whatsoever to who chooses to read or not read that journal. Oh, and if I've forgotten to add anybody, just ask. I try to add anyone who reads this journal, but I'm too lazy to go check every single name carefully right now.)

I'm not actually going to quite hold myself to the rules - I believe the rules are to start a new novel, but I started a novel a few weeks after I turned 19, which would be over eight years ago now, and I never finished it and have barely written even one page of it in the past five years, but it deserves to be finished and I'm going to try to work on it now. If I can't think of anything to write that relates to it though, I'm just going to write random other things - I don't care about the rules, I care about making myself write something. I'm going to try to post some piece of new writing almost every day, whether or not the pieces cohere in the same order as the plot. I'm going to try not to worry about what anyone will think of what I produce, or whether you'll even be able to make any sense of it if I write all the pieces in the wrong order.

Mikie, you're a prominent part of the audience I'll have in mind as I write it, and I'm hoping that my writing regularly will help mitigate the pain of my absence from AIM a little. Think of it as a new form of togetherness if you can. I would like it to be. I love you.
