Renna

Yay, I have possible accompaniment to the antiwar thing in San Francisco this Saturday. I just called up my high school friend Renna for the first time in over a year, and she said to call back tomorrow and by then she'll know whether she's available.

I need to get her some internet access somehow. She doesn't have the money for it but she's the only offline friend I have who I would deem qualified for admission to my LJ friends list. My criteria for LJ friendship are much stricter than my criteria for offline friendship.

Aren't there any free ISPs still in business anymore these days?

What's the difference between the criteria, if I may ask?

On LJ the goal is to eliminate as many friends as possible in order to leave myself some free time to not be on LJ. Therefore, I eliminate pretty nearly everybody who in any way disagrees with me about anything.

Offline, my only friends are friends I made when I was in school, when the goal was to find an ally who had as many classes as possible in order to prevent me from having to face the world alone. Therefore, all that was necessary was that my allies show basic respect for all my beliefs, withut necessarily agreeing with them.

There may be some free ISP's, but they would be loaded with pop-up menus. The cheapest one that I know of is Everyone's Internet for only $10 a month.

Glad to know I made it through your "filter" of online friends.

This is a bit of a nonsequitor, as far as your post is concerned, but thanks for adding me to your Friends list. Incidentally, I may be trawling your website for source material for an upcoming term paper for my Construction of Gender class. How convenient for me!

... And nice to "meet" you.
