Crass Consumerism

I need to send my mother my birthday list now (she asked, though my birthday is not for another month still), so that means I need to know what to ask for. Do you know of anything I should ask for? Recommend stuff that I should ask for, please.

Oh, and since I'm on the subject of birthdays, I would like to point out that the best Sean in the whole world turned twenty years old today.

Ask for gold dust. It's heavier than other presents of the same size, so it *must* be better!

No. PLUTONIUM.

Just ten pounds and you can kill humanity!

Why would I need to do that when George W. Bush is so eager to do it for me?

why ask for gold dust when you can ask them for something much more valuable: the new harry potter book :0) just don't say a word about it until i've read it though.

I second that!

usually around Christmas and birthdays and all that I go through my house and figure out what i need: pots and pans, a blanket, shoes, towels, pretty sparkly things, whatever, and I start off with that :)

You can ask for the same birthday present as me: a plane ticket to Quebec City and some cold hard cash!

ideas:
paints and brushes
construction paper, pipe cleaners, and glitter
a steel teapot (I have one - it's fantastic)
new socks and undies, everyone always needs 'em!
mittens
a donation to a charity

gift certificates to a favorite bookstore (or other favorite place) are nice although some people don't like giving gift certificates and feel the need to get concrete, specific items instead.

i always ask for striped socks because it's something that's easy for people to find (and fun for them to get me) and i really can't get enough of them. maybe you have similar items you can ask for?

a lot of my friends/co-workers are lusting for digital cameras these days, i don't know if you like such toys or not or already have one.
