Voting and Amusing Homophobes

I voted! With a pencil, for the first time, instead of a punch card like we've always used around here in the past. I believe this is theoretically supposed to increase the odds of my vote actually being counted. Go Kucinich.

Oh, and homophobes can be really rather entertaining.
"Untrammeled homosexuality can take over and destroy a social system," says Cameron. "If you isolate sexuality as something solely for one's own personal amusement, and all you want is the most satisfying orgasm you can get-and that is what homosexuality seems to be-then homosexuality seems too powerful to resist. The evidence is that men do a better job on men and women on women, if all you are looking for is orgasm." So powerful is the allure of gays, Cameron believes, that if society approves that gay people, more and more heterosexuals will be inexorably drawn into homosexuality. "I'm convinced that lesbians are particularly good seducers," says Cameron. "People in homosexuality are incredibly evangelical," he adds, sounding evangelical himself. "It's pure sexuality. It's almost like pure heroin. It's such a rush. They are committed in almost a religious way. And they'll take enormous risks, do anything." He says that for married men and women, gay sex would be irresistible. "Marital sex tends toward the boring end," he points out. "Generally, it doesn't deliver the kind of sheer sexual pleasure that homosexual sex does" So, Cameron believes, within a few generations homosexuality would become the dominant form of sexual behavior.
Okay, so we're all agreed that queer sex is the kind that's the most fun. But having fun sex is apparently bad???

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] joxn for relaying the quote to me.

Did you see the article where the governator said he would support same sex marrages if the people or the courts ruled them legal?

Yes, I saw it. I didn't find it surprising, though.

"People in homosexuality are incredibly evangelical,"

is it just me, or is that a nice way of saying "oh no! they'll recruit our children!"

Considering who's talking, I'd think he must have meant it as a compliment. After all, he's plenty evangelical.

"Marital sex tends toward the boring end," he points out. "Generally, it doesn't deliver the kind of sheer sexual pleasure that homosexual sex does"

I take it there's no Mrs. Cameron, then.

Of course there's a Mrs. Cameron, silly. But there are no little baby Camerons, because thinking of England and trying deperately to repress their same-sex fantasies failed to get either one of them off, so they stopped having sex years ago and the only sex he's had since then has been in men's restrooms with John Paulk.

Actually I haven't searched for information on his actual family structure because then I'd have to feel terribly sorry for Mrs. or ex-Mrs. Cameron.

Risks? Me? Ahahahaha! I am incredibly paranoid about the risks involved in sex, regardless of whether my partner is male or female. Not exactly looking to recruit, either, since there's only one person I'd want to recruit, and really -- not going there, because I do value friendship over sex (does that make me a bad queer? I suppose heterosexuals aren't supposed to put friendship first, either, though).

And gee, if your married sex life is dull, maybe that's because you have no imagination or creativity.

Sheer sexual pleasure is what vibrators are for, anyway. Humans have other values. Horrible man.

Sounds like somebody han't had a good orgasm for quite some time...

And of course there is no room for love in homosexuality, and no celibate homosexuals.

wow, the religious right wing is much more optimistic about the extent to which we will change society in just a few generations than i am. i hope he's right!

"lesbians are particularly good seducers" = "oh crap, we men really got nothing to offer past a piece of the social power we have seized for ourselves!" so of course to them that means they need to control society rather than unman themselves. anything but that. why not start to act like human beings for change? the only heroin i see around here is this guy's addiction to manhood. guess he's projecting his addictions on to everyone else there.

down with male-supremacy! :p

Well most sex is purely for orgasms, hence the pill

Hmmm. . .he seems suspiciously, ah, fixated on homosexual sex? He's talking about how great it is and all, it kind of makes you think. . .

um, i really want to say something pointed and insightful, but i'm just laughing too damned hard!
