I guess my opinion on that will depend on whether I like the book or not. I haven't read anything else by her. Never heard of her in fact, just walked into the bookstore and looked at some books and picked up one of hers and decided it looked interesting.

Now when I read it I'll be sure to bear the personal connection in mind.

Already read Giovanni's Room. It was great though, I agree. I've heard of two of the others but haven't read them yet.

Weetzie Bat is the better of the two. Real queer, multicultural issues in young adult fiction. Silly and still literary kind of story. Also a quick read.
