Californians for Same-Sex Marriage: Governor Schwarzenegger's Phone Poll

Make your voice heard! Especially if you live in California . . . I have no idea whether the system bothers checking what state callers are calling from. I suppose it's likely. (But I do know it can't tell whether you're old enough to vote yet! So for once, you high school students get a voice in politics.) Anyway: California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has a phone poll for the electorate.

Call: (916) 445-2841

On the phone tree, Press #5 for "Hot Issues."

Press #1 for Same Sex Marriage.

Press #1 to support same-sex marriage in California.

There are also other "Hot Issues" you can express your opinion to him about, but unfortunately as soon as you express your opinion on one of them, the system rudely hangs up on you so you have to call seven separate times if you want to express your opinion on seven issues.

excellent! I did that just now.

It doesn't check what state you're calling from. Either that or California invaded Massachusetts while I wasn't looking.

I meant with caller ID, looking at the area code. I wouldn't think you'd know they checked. But still, perhaps they don't. Anywya, thanks for calling.

Well, if they were going to check with caller ID, why wouldn't they do it while I was on the phone?

I have no experience with Caller ID, so I don't really understand how it works, but I was thinking since they just let their computer answer the phone and there wasn't actually a human on their end at the time, they just let the computer record everything and later a human would look at where the callers had called from.

Then again, maybe they don't bother, especially since the real purpose of the poll is probably just to make the voters feel their opinions are being listened to, not necessarily to actually listen or do anything with the poll results other than throw them out if they disagree.
