Music

Today I rejoined Columbia House, after having let my previous membership expire several years ago because their selection is unbelievably tiny. (Would you believe they don't even carry a simple thing like the Beatles' The White Album?!?!?) I doubt that I'll remain a member long this time either, but I think I've abstained long enough for now to have built up a long enough shopping list for a temporary membership to be worthwhile. I ordered albums by:

Björk
Jeff Buckley
Kate Bush
Dido
Goldie
Jimi Hendrix
the Kinks
Patti Smith
the Pixies
Radiohead
Rage Against the Machine
Rammstein
Staind

People to blame for recommending various of the above artists to me include: Frank Aqueno, Frank Episale, David Bowie, Raven, the Myst Collective, and Pekky.

Wow !

What an incredibly cool list of artists ! Can I come to your house and listen with you ? :)) The Pixies are my favourite band ever , and Radiohead come a close second . The only ones I would be sure about are Rammstein , mainly because I don't speak German so I wouldn't have a clue what they were on about . You cool , cool person !

Patti Smith's new(ish) album, Gunh Ho is absolutely fucking fantastic. I bought it this week.

That's one of the ones I bought too.

Columbia House pays very small royalities, so many artists don't lease their stuff out to CH -- they actually manufacture the CDs, that's why they can have the deals. Thus, whoever owns the Beatles collection has decided that it's not worth it...
