Happy VD!

Does it bother anyone else that Valentine's Day has the same initials as Venereal Disease?

When people wish me "Happy VD!" I want to scream and run away from them as fast as I can. It's like, the absolute most disturbing pickup line imaginable . . . and complete with the assumption that of course I'll agree to let them infect me.

But I'm happy today, because Olga has taken to leaving her bathroom door open when nobody else is home, all because of me, because I inspired her. At last I've made my mark on history! I will be remembered forever as the promoter of open bathroom doors.

Reminds me of a classic survey answer in my social group:

Q. At what stage in a relationship is it appropriate to use the toilet in front of a lover?
A. When you need to go and they're in the bathroom.

Uhm, that must be an American thing. Nobody has ever referred to Valentine's Day as "VD" over here...I've never understood this obsession with reducing everything to meaningless acronyms anyway.

rightly so, i suppose. i'd imagine that VDs probbaly have a high rate of transmisstion on "VD"... i think the vagina monologues are the best alternative and that "VD" needs to be done away with as a holiday...

I always leave the bathroom door open when I'm at home. But that's only coz my bedroom door is always kept closed.
