The Anger-Directing Poll!

*Note: Throughout this poll, whenever I use the phrase "somebody else," it doesn't mean you necessarily picked a particular other person to place the blame on - it just means you decided that you surely weren't the one at fault.

Also: technically speaking, when you don't have enough information to really know who is at fault, the correct way to proceed would be to not make any guesses. In practice, however, I think the human brain is wired in such a way that it usually has to take some kind of guess.

[Poll #31137]

My violence is generally directed towards inanimate things.

Yes, I didn't really leave a provision for throwing things across the room if you don't cause any pain to self or others in the process.

Mine is usually directed at other people, when I'm violent at all. Because see, when I get the urge to throw things across the room at the walls I just log onto LiveJournal and type "I want to throw things across the room at the walls" and leave it at that without bothering to actually throw them. I don't think I'd get any additional satisfaction from actually throwing them.

Thankfully, my violence only surfaces at all once every five years or so and has never really injured anybody anyway. Being an oldest sibling, I was always firmly instructed to never dare raise a hand against my poor tiny fragile younger brother (who on the other hand was largely free to hit, kick, and pinch me nonstop until he entered high school and the parents decided he should finally be domesticated a little), so my training mostly succeeded. With occasional lapses, but nothing major.

I put in the *shrug* because my violence (when I ever do get violent) is directed against inanimate objects.

I had some trouble with the last question... My tendency towards violence in action tends to be towards myself, but I don't necessarily think I'm more violent towards myself than almost everyone else in society... But then, I tend to have thoughts of outwardly projecting violence that aren't frequent, but are disturbingly brutal. And then I think I consider more things to be violent in nature than other people do... Ah, I'm confused... so I went for a higher number.

What, did you think I'd see, "Oh no, Morgan assigned himself a high number!" and immediately recoil in shocked horror and refuse to ever venture near the journal of the Extremely Violent Morgan ever again?

Well... err, no. I just didn't want to come across like "Oh, woe is me! I hate myself more than anyone else who ever lived, boo hoo hoo!"

Hee. Yes, LiveJournal has rather more than enough people claiming to be #1 in that category already.

My violence is usually verbal, and directed at other drivers. I also occasionally say things like "I'd like to hit so-and-so with a clue bat".
